HOW IT WORKS
One membership. One routine. One journey.
The Calm Dog Walking Club is a twice-weekly structured walking routine where dogs build and maintain practical skills in real-world environments.
Every dog follows the same core framework, with skills rotating throughout the sessions to give them regular opportunities to practise, maintain and strengthen what they have learned.
As their skills develop, dogs progress through the club: FOUNDATION → PACK → EXPLORER
Nothing is rushed. Dogs progress when their skills are ready for the next stage.

STEP 1
START WITH A CLUB INTRODUCTION
Every dog begins with a walking session.
We meet you at home and walk with you and your dog through the local area, allowing us to see how they currently navigate everyday environments.
We'll look at things such as:
-
leaving the house
-
walking on the lead
-
responding to distractions
-
navigating streets and green spaces
-
moving around people and other dogs
-
We'll also explain how the club works and answer any questions you have.
The introduction gives us a starting point for your dog's journey within the club.

STEP 2
FOUNDATION
Every dog begins with the Foundation.
This is where they learn the club's walking routine and build the practical skills they need to participate successfully.
The routine is divided into six sections, with specific skills intentionally practised throughout each session.
Skills rotate between sessions so dogs continue to practise a broad range of abilities rather than simply repeating the same walk.
The focus is on building reliable skills that can be maintained in real environments.
STEP 3
THE TWICE-WEEKLY ROUTINE
Once your dog joins the club, they attend twice every week.
The consistency matters.
Rather than attending occasionally, your dog becomes familiar with the routine, the expectations and the environments they experience.
One of the weekly sessions focuses on your dog's local area, helping them practise their skills around the places they regularly encounter.
As their foundation skills develop, their second session can take them into new environments, giving them opportunities to apply those skills somewhere different.
The routine stays consistent.
The environments and skills continue to develop.

STEP 4
PACK LIFE
When your dog has developed their foundation skills to the required level, they can progress and join a Pack.
Pack dogs continue following the same structured routine, now alongside a small, consistent group.
The aim isn't simply to put dogs together.
It's to give them the opportunity to maintain their skills while navigating real environments alongside other dogs.
Dogs continue developing their ability to:
-
stay connected to the routine
-
navigate distractions
-
move calmly around other dogs
-
maintain their skills in a group environment
Foundation prepares them for their Pack. The Pack helps them maintain and strengthen those skills.
STEP 5
EXPLORER RANK
Some dogs become highly skilled enough to be promoted to Explorer Rank.
Explorer Rank recognises dogs who have developed a strong level of reliability within the club's routine.
It also opens the door to additional experiences beyond the regular walking routine.
Explorer experiences can take dogs further afield into new environments such as beaches, the countryside and other places where they can put their skills into practice.
These experiences are an extension of the journey, not a replacement for the regular club routine.

THE SIX-SECTION ROUTINE
Every session follows our internal six-section framework.
-
Warm up
-
Lead Walking
-
Off Lead Walking
-
Patience
-
Play
-
Cool Down
Each section has a specific purpose, with skills intentionally selected and rotated across sessions.
This gives dogs a consistent structure they can learn while keeping their experiences varied.
The routine provides the framework.
The skills provide the progression.
The real world provides the practice.
SKILLS MAINTAINED IN REAL ENVIRONMENTS
The purpose of the club isn't to teach a skill once and move on.
Dogs continue attending so they can maintain and strengthen their skills over time.
Their routine gives them repeated opportunities to practise around:
-
everyday distractions
-
people
-
other dogs
-
streets
-
green spaces
-
unfamiliar environments
Because practical skills matter most when a dog can maintain them while the world around them is happening.
SEE THEIR PROGRESS
Your dog doesn't simply go out for a walk and come home.
You'll receive weekly progress reports so you can see how they're getting on.
Your reports include:
✓ Scores
✓ Wins
✓ Videos of their performance
✓ Progress through the club
This gives you an ongoing view of your dog's development rather than relying on occasional updates.

ONE MEMBERSHIP. ONE JOURNEY.
Your dog doesn't need to choose between different walking packages.
They join the club and follow the journey.
FOUNDATION → PACK → EXPLORER
Their membership continues throughout their journey, with the routine adapting as their skills develop.
The goal isn't to finish the programme.
It's to keep building, practising and maintaining the skills that help them navigate real life.
