INSIDE THE WALK

Every walk follows a consistent structure.

Dogs are guided through the same sequence each time so behaviour becomes predictable, repeatable, and stable.

👉 This is structured walking that builds calm behaviour through repetition in real environments.

THE PUPPANOME WALK STRUCTURE

This walking structure is what we call the Calm Pack Flow:

Warm up → Structured walking → Off-lead progression →Patience→ Play → Calm finish

1. WARM-UP

Focus & Connection

Dogs arrive and are immediately guided into a calm state before movement begins.

What this looks like:

  • responding to their name

  • making eye contact with the handler

  • sitting calmly before greeting

  • holding short positions (sit, down, stay)

  • stopping and starting on cue

Dogs shift from excitement into focus before the walk begins.

2. STRUCTURED WALKING

Movement & Communication

Dogs walk on lead in a controlled, consistent way through real streets.

What this includes:

  • loose-lead walking

  • stopping and starting together

  • sitting at road edges before crossing

  • walking past people and dogs without reacting

  • changing direction with the handler

  • ignoring food, objects, and distractions

Dogs are continuously guided during movement.

👉 We gently guide dogs back into calm walking when they become distracted.

3. OFF-LEAD PROGRESSION

Freedom Through Trust

Dogs are given more freedom when they show reliability.

What this looks like:

  • coming back when called

  • checking in with the handler regularly

  • staying within range of the group

  • responding to cues at a distance

  • remaining calm around distractions while off lead

Some dogs remain on long lines while others progress to full freedom.

Freedom is based on behaviour, not time.

4. PATIENCE PRACTICE

Stillness & Control

Dogs practise staying calm while nothing is happening.

What this includes:

  • group sit and stay

  • waiting without moving

  • ignoring nearby distractions

  • holding position while the handler moves away

Dogs learn to stay settled even in busy environments.

5. CONTROLLED PLAY

Energy Release Without Chaos

Dogs are allowed to play in a structured way.

What this looks like:

  • short chase games

  • sniffing and exploration

  • light interaction with other dogs

  • responding when play is stopped

Play is monitored so it stays balanced and controlled.

6. CALM COOLDOWN

Return to Balance

The walk ends with slow, relaxed movement.

Dogs:

  • walk calmly at a slower pace

  • settle before returning home

  • finish in a relaxed, neutral state

Dogs leave the walk calm, not overstimulated.

THE CALM PACK FLOW IN ACTION

Real environments. Real behaviour. Following the Puppanome Walk Structure

WHY THIS STRUCTURE WORKS

Most walks only provide movement.

The Puppanome Walk Structure provides:

  • clear expectations

  • repeated exposure to real situations

  • consistent guidance

  • calm recovery at the end

Dogs respond extremely well to structure and consistency

Over time:

👉 we guide dogs back into calm behaviour, again and again
👉 until it becomes natural

THE RESULT

With repeated exposure to this structure, dogs begin to:

  • walk calmly without constant correction

  • stay focused around distractions

  • respond more reliably

  • settle more easily

Behaviour becomes consistent because the experience is consistent.
